Grilled Prawns
Simple grilled fresh prawns flavoured with garlic, chilli and seasoning. You just cannot go wrong. They will go down like a treat as a starter.

Method

Step 1

Clean the prawns by splitting down the back and removing the black stip. Rinse well and place in a bowl.

Step 2

Crush the garlic and mix with the oil, 1 teaspoon of Tabasco, salt and pepper. Pour this mixture over the prawns and turn them over so that they are well covered.

Step 3

Heat up a griddle pan with a tablespoon of olive oil. Place the prawns so that they are stacked close to each other. Cook for 3-4 minutes.

Step 4

Remove from the heat and turn the prawns over, continuing to cook the other side for the same time or until cooked and slightly charred and pink. Serve hot with a lemon quarter on the side.

My Notes
1. Use large prawns with the shell on.
2. You can use chopped parsley instead of basil.
