Slow cooked caramelized onions
This is a basic onion con fit best used along with meats and seafood. The slow cooked caramelized onions are great to serve as a bed for grilled meats or seafood.

Step 1

Slice the onions finely. Put them in a large pan with the bay leaves and olive oil and leave to cook till it is soft and caramelised. Add vegetable stock if the onions start to burn/stick to the base of the pan.

Step 2

leave to cool and spoon into a container with a lid and refrigerate.

My Notes
1. This is a very useful to have ready on standby as a basic ingredient.
