Tomato relish
Delicious spicy Tomato relish that can be had as a side or a dip in an Indian meal. It has a unique flavor of its own, is very easy to make and has some really contrasting flavors from the tempering.


Step 1

Put oil in a frying pan over medium heat. When hot, add all whole spices together and saute for about 30 seconds.

Step 2

Pour in pureed tomatoes and cook over medium heat till the relish thickens. Remove from heat, mix in salt and sugar, and stir till sugar dissolves.

Step 3

Serve hot or cold.

My Notes
1. You can adjust the spice by reducing or increasing the chilli.
2. The fenugreek seeds can be quite bitter. Use them sparingly.
